Paul Clark is a professional illustrator who has been teaching watercolour painting and drawing techniques to adult learners for over 11 years. Paul has run his own successful design studio in Eastbourne for over 25 years. He has taught art at Claverham Community College, Battle and continues to teach evening classes at Bexhill College.

"One of the greatest privileges for me in teaching art, is to watch learners' individual styles develop and see the thrill they get from mastering new techniques". Paul's ethos on teaching, is that students learn better when working in a happy and relaxed atmosphere, so all his classes are open and fun, with a great emphasis on all artistic techniques being demonstrated.
Adrian Burrows

Adrian Burrows is a founder member of the Eastbourne Life Group which has been active for ten years. Currently he divides his time between running his own graphic design business and the South Street Art Studios.

Adrian obtained a degree in graphic design at Ravensbourne College of Art and a Postgraduate Certificate in Education for Art from Brighton University. He has also taught life drawing at Bexhill College.

He is passionate about drawing and considers it a life long pursuit. His classes are well organised run on a firm but fair basis. "Life drawing is rewarding, but you have to be honest with yourself and others to gain that next level - and there's always a next level!", he says.
Liz Brown

Liz Brown is a local artist and tutor of mixed media and acrylic workshops. She studied art at Brighton where she obtained a BA (Hons) in Art and Design and a postgraduate Art Teacher's Certificate.

All of Liz's work aims to portray an emotional response to what she is painting in a free, spontaneous and intuitive way.  In each painting she strives to explore the subject in a manner that produces unexpected viewpoints and renditions. Texture is a particularly important feature of Liz's work together with vibrant and uplifting colours.

Kate Thornburrow was born near Lancaster in Lancashire but later moved to Sudbury in Suffolk where she attended Halstead Grammar School for girls.

At the age of sixteen she completed a two year foundation course at Sheffield School of Art. For the the next thirty four years she taught art in schools in Essex and East Sussex.

She now enjoys her retirement painting out of doors in Sussex, Dorset and as far afield as Canada.
Alice Hesketh

Alice has been teaching for over seven years and is currently working in a studio in the centre of Eastbourne.  The subject matter of her work is predominantly figurative but she uses a range of media (drawing, painting, collage).

2004: Graduated from Camberwell College of Art (BA Hons Drawing)
2005: Winner of 'SAA Young Artist of the Year' award for painting of Brian Sewell
Since 2005, She has done both private portrait commissions and further commissions for organisations such as The Geographic Society.
